What should one do when they were betrayed, but later received an apology? One should forgive. Why? How? Well, you should forgive because giving others a second chance will let that person learn from their mistakes, and it will also encourage you to acknowledge that everyone makes mistakes and they should be given a chance to learn from it. A person can show forgiveness by telling the person that what they did was wrong and wasn’t kind. However, make sure to say that they have been forgiven and given a second chance. This way that person will be given time to reflect on their actions.

Not all situations include something as serious as betrayal. Something that happens more often is someone being late to a rendezvous. Everyone should understand that things come up and nothing always goes perfectly. Forgiveness is the strength we develop to face the onerous and hard times in life.

Here is an example of a May character dare:

“Thursday 5/13 – Today’s character dare is Social Media Mad. As you scroll through your Instagram or Snapchat and see something that annoys you, try to understand where it is coming from. Sometimes we see things that annoy us or make us angry. Take today to scroll through and pay attention to these things. Then, take a step back and think about what might be causing people to post like this. Are they crying out for attention because they are lacking it somewhere else in their life? Are they venting because they need someone to listen to them?” – May Character Dares Forgiveness
