Cross Country 2021 Season

The cross country team did especially well this year. In their last meet, College Place got a second-place right behind Harbor Point, with an average time of 16 minutes and 13 seconds for a race of two miles.
Jane Hanson and Aliah Karl finished in 1st and 2nd place out of all of the 8th-grade girls in the district. Jack Campbell, Turner Timpe, and Boaz Lang came in 17th, 20th, and 28th place in the 8th-grade boy’s category. Audry Rothmier got 3rd place out of all the 7th-grade girls and Rayna Halloran came in 15th place. Caleb Agol from the 7th-grade boys got 22, and a few places behind him was Conor Boling in 28th.
Mr. Visser described the team as “caring, kind-hearted, and fierce.”
During practice, they worked on running and relays. This is important because according to coach Visser, the team’s core values were running smart and keeping everyone safe. Some advice for future cross country runners, from team captain Aliah Karl, would be to “support everyone no matter what.”
