Red Notice Takes Internet By Storm
Today I’ll be reviewing the movie that’s been taking the world by storm, Red Notice. I originally saw the movie before it started gaining traction at home, when my dad was watching it. But I watched it on my own time and I had high high hopes since it had actors Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool and Deadpool 2), Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (Jumanji and Jumanji 2: Welcome to the Jungle), and finally Gal Gadot, famously known as Wonder Woman and Gisele Yashar from Fast Five. All movies previously listed have been Oscar nominees, so you can only expect to have high hopes. Rawson Marshall Thurber directed the movie, more famous for his action-comedies and also his action movies “We’re the Millers!” and “Skyscraper” (which coincidentally also features Dwayne Johnson!). So I was looking forward to lots of action as well as some comedy. The main plot of the movie is that there are three gold eggs (Cleopatra’s golden eggs) but the third one was never found, and three thieves are trying to get the first two eggs and then find the third egg. If they do this successfully an Egyptian billionaire will pay the thief with all three eggs a handsome 300 million dollars. Throughout the movie Johnson showed lots of passion, while being a little more comedic than usual and Reynalds played the role of a sassy thief extremely well and he was being funny and convincing, but he showed lots of passion in the movie throughout. Gadot suited the role of the “bishop” really well, and throughout the movie made the impression she was hiding something and being sly. This is some of the better acting in all three of the actors careers in my opinion There were some semi predictable parts in the movie that I think Rawson could’ve done better on like in the scene where Hartley is holding Booth out of the train car while another train is about to hit Booth, we all know Hartley is going to pull him in. But there was one fight scene that I loved. They were in the mansion of the “bad guy” looking for the second egg when all of a sudden the Bishop (Gal Gadot) pops out and starts fighting John Hartley (Dwayne Johnson) while Nolan Booth (Ryan Reynolds) tries to get the egg. The scene was excellently choreographed, with the added bonus of Nolan’s jokes. In the end the movie had everything I was looking for: Action, Laughs, Rawson’s great directing, and most importantly, a helicopter escape scene. With the only downside being there are some slightly predictable parts. I really enjoyed this movie and I think action lovers and those who love laughs would really get a kick out of watching this movie. I overall think this is worth all the praise it gets.
