June 3: Marsha P. Johnson: Marsha P. Johnson was an american gay rights activist who was best known for being as one of the prominent figures in the stonewall uprising. According to wikipedia The stonewall uprising were a series of demonstrations by members of the gay community in response to a police raid that began in the early morning hours of June 28, 1969, at the Stonewall Inn in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Lower Manhattan in New York City in which members of the gay community had a confrontation with police which resulted in the start if the stonewall uprising. Marsha P. Johnson not only advocated for gay rights but for trans peoples rights as she herself was a trans women. Her legacy in the LGBTQ+ community is one to not be forgotten as she remains a prominent figure till this day.

She said “History isn’t something you look back at and say it was inevitable, it happens because people make decisions that are sometimes very impulsive and of the moment, but those moments are cumulative realities.”
