Kindness comes from the heart. It’s the act of consideration and friendliness. Complimenting someone by saying, “Your hair looks nice today,” is being kind. You shouldn’t be kind because it is prescribed; instead, you should be kind because it makes you feel gratified. It isn’t hard to be kind; it comes naturally. “Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.” —The 14th Dalai Lama.

“A part of kindness consists in loving people more than they deserve.” —Joseph Joubert.

“You cannot do kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it will be too late.” —Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Kindness could change a person’s life. If someone was suicidal and you treated them kindly, they may have a reason to live another day. If you were kind to someone having a bad day you could give them a good moment. It is never too late to start being kind, even if you weren’t kind before. Change in people isn’t fundamentally an immoral thing. You aren’t sinful if you change to be friendly and kind.

Is today the day you will enforce the kindness inside of you and encourage yourself and others to be kind?
